Lois E. Boyd, 88, Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 8:44 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Greenville Regional Hospital, Greenville, Illinois.  Born in the Willow Hill area of Jasper County, Illinois on November 25, 1923, she was the daughter of Lewis Shryock and Eva (Musgrove) Shryock.  She helped her husband farm; was a housewife and a caregiver.  Lois was a member of the Bethany Christian Church, rural Jasper County, Illinois where she was involved with the Women’s Fellowship group and she also taught Bible School and Sunday School.  Lois was also a former 4-H Leader.  She loved crocheting and knitting.  She attended all her grandkid’s and great-grandkid’s events until her health failed.

On August 2, 1941, she married Pearl Junior Boyd, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1976.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; four grandchildren, Antonio & Enrico Laino and Melissa & John Thomas Stifle; a brother, Harold Shryock; a sister: Lela Mae Stough and two sons-in-law: Charles Colwell & Joseph Laino.

Lois is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Laino, Barbara & Charlie McCoy, Boneva Wamser and Brinda & Bill Powers; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Richard & Evelyn Shryock and Halleck & Sonja Shryock; one sister, Freda & Carl Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted by Bro. Ken Slisher and Bro. Phil Boyd.  Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.
